According to most “Bible-believing” Christians, the whole book, from start to finish, is inspired by God and to be taken seriously. The book itself even states in 2 Timothy 3:16: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…” In other words, Christians, if they are indeed Christians, are to follow what the Bible, and especially Jesus, says.
Jesus, whom these individuals believe is literally God and also the son of God, should be the ultimate authority on how to live for Christians. Why, then, do these folks openly disregard so much of what their leader taught and said as if it doesn’t matter? This baffled me as a kid trying to take the religion seriously, and nagged at me into my teenage and adult years. Luckily — and painfully — I finally figured out that most Bible-believing Christians, so-called, simply make up a version of Jesus and the Bible that is comfortable for them, and ignore anything from the source material that is contrary to this mental construction.
Much like Trump supporters ignore any faults or contradictions or abominable things the man himself has, makes, or does. It is this image and comfortably crafted cult-ure that matters to them mostly, and not so much the truth. And many of the values these people impute to Trump and Jesus are indeed good! Because these people are generally good, when not clouded by the religion. (Spoiler: Many of the extreme commands of the Jesus character make much more sense when viewed in connection to his role as an aspiring political insurrectionist in first-century Judaea. Most Christians also ignore that he is almost exclusively making these statements to Jewish people, and repeatedly, explicitly denigrates “Gentiles,” even advising his followers not to talk to them, go into their cities, or share the message of his supposed salvation with them.)
But, without faffing around anymore, here is a list of Bible commands, and commands of Jesus, Christians ignore without justifiable explanation. And, to be honest, thank god (no pun intended) they do ignore them.
- According to Jesus’ commands in the Gospel, if you don’t give away or sell all you have, you cannot be Jesus’s disciple. Luke 14:33, Matthew 19:21
- If you don’t hate your family, or at least love them less than Jesus, you cannot follow Jesus. Luke 14:26, Matthew 10:37.
- It is not permissible to divorce for any reason other than infidelity. Matthew 5:32
- The Old Testament commandments are still in effect and should be observed even more strictly than they were in the OT. Matthew 5:18, 19. This can also bee seen with the “Holy Ghost” advising Gentiles observe some OT laws in the book of Acts. Also, Paul observes the law in that book. This is AFTER the supposed “resurrection.”
- If someone is hurting you or stealing from you, do not resist them. In fact, love them and give them even more. Matthew 5:39, Luke 6:29, Matthew 5:40.
- You should mutilate your body if you have natural human thoughts of lust over a woman. Matthew 5:27-29
This is just the very, very tip of the iceberg. So, why do Christians disregard their leader’s commands? It’s easy to see. If one followed them fully they would end up poor, homeless, abused, and likely dead… Which raises another question: Why would a loving God command such terrible, toxic things that completely disempower and destroy anyone who follows them.. Ahhhhh. That leads us to control, and Zionist agendas. So if you are wondering when Christians will start actually obeying their supposed leader’s commands, the answer is never. But they’re already duped plenty good to be useful tools for the pedos in power, and to sit on their asses waiting for superman to come from the clouds to save them while psychopaths and anti-life, anti-human cabals take over here in the real, actually existing world.
