the unexpected introduction of a ukulele into my life has opened new doors, and given me inspiration for a new album. i have been battling some nasty and pretty fucking black existential and financial shit these days, but music is the thing that pulls me out of the pit, at least for a little while. that and booze. however, music is ultimately the more fulfilling of the two, of course. plus booze just makes me wanna write even more music, as once the anxiety about how i will pay my bills is gone, the ideas flow freely (see: David Lynch and George Orwell’s ideas on the myth of the starving artist, and art made in the actual moment of suffering). i am pretty happy with this song. my kind of final goodbye to xtianity, and all the dumb shit and heartbreak it brought into my life. no way to get the wasted time back, but there’s still music. and life.

By the way, the “Matsumoto, Matsumoto” station announcement you hear at the start — that beautiful sound people here love — is being removed tomorrow via a JR “upgrade” as the sours-that-be continue to make life in modern society more and more atomized, colorless, and lonely. Happily, the woman’s voice was in the key of this tune. I didn’t plan that. Magic little thing. 

Let’s make the world colorful and warm everyday, as much as we can, and dispose of all the toxic myths. Donkeys don’t talk. You’re not dirty or evil just for existing. Big love to all who don’t give a f*** about the scumbags’ immoral laws and politics, and who make life their own.
