I don’t necessarily consider myself an atheist, but more of a pagan (someone with no religion), but this guy nails the infuriating retardation and mental abuse sincere people face from Christians right on the head. Christians told me to seek the truth and “read the word,” and to ask questions. I did. Spent literal decades agonizing over it all, studying and praying and truly believing. And they turned their backs on me like cowards when faced with my honest questions and the ugly realities of the Bible. That’s effectively their demonstration of “God’s love” — rejecting anyone who uses their god/nature-given brain in love, to think. It’s very lonely on the other side, but much, much more beautiful. Because reality is no longer something to hide from,, but to enjoy, understand, and try to improve where it could be much better.
