A student’s dad gifted me a ukulele the other day, made right here in the Matsumoto basin at the Fujigen factory in Ōmachi. An honor to be given such a nice present, for no reason other than he wanted me to have it. Second time in my life I’ve had a uke in my possession. I don’t know how the chords work, really, so I just play around with what sounds good to me. I like that. It’s nice not knowing sometimes. It’s fresh and just pure feeling, in a way. Anyhow, here’s a song I wrote on it yesterday, called “hitsong.”
I’m gonna sit right here and write a hit song… Here’s my tribute to today, November, and all of us struggling just to get by in a crushingly boring society. We’re still singing, somehow.
