The unending, monotonous, futile grind
The changing leaves
The dull, chronic pain
A smile from my son
The inability to sleep, the lack of a future
A kiss from my wife
The proud, raging insipidity of these people
Mountains, sea, serene
in the distance
I wish I could run to you, and hide there
forever
We will investigate you, we will investigate you!
I’m paying all I can
But you don’t accept ginko leaves for gold
And you don’t accept the state paper
I can afford at the moment
Always more, more, more
Blue sky above me
Nothing to do but
put on the mask
“Smile!”
A Herculean exercise in insanity itself
But emotions and a sensible human reaction
are not a luxury
I can afford
at present
